Post Arkansas Confederate dead at the Camp Chase Cemetery

Just as with Fort Donelson, Tennessee all of the Confederate junior officers from Arkansas Post, Arkansas were sent to the Camp Chase Prison. They would arrive at Camp Chase on January 30, 1863 in the dead of winter. 12 would die at Camp Chase and be buried in the local Southeast City Cemetery. In 1869 their bodies would be re-interred by Captain Irving and brought to the Camp Chase Cemetery. All of them are double buried and all of them now rest in Row 41.

4) 1st Lieutenant Eason R. Allen Company E 10th Texas Infantry Regiment (Nelson's) died February 11, 1863 of typhoid and pnuemonia, grave #2100 buried with a Yankee

5) 2nd Lieutenant James M. Weatherly Company H 17th Regiment Texas Cavalry (Moore's) died February 11, 1863 of typhoid and pnuemonia, grave #2101

6) Captain William W. Phillips Company A 6th Texas Infantry died February 12, 1863 of typhoid and pnuemonia, grave #2102 buried with a Yankee

7) 2nd Lieutenant Littleton Fowler Henry Company B 19th Arkansas Infantry (Dawson's) died February 25, 1863 of meningitis, grave #2103

8) 2nd Lieutenant David F. Breeden OR Breedon Company A 6th Texas Regiment Infantry died March 5, 1863 of typhoid and pnuemonia, grave #2104

9) 2nd Lieutenant William L. Malone Company E 6th Texas Infantry died on March 11, 1863 of typhoid and pnuemonia, grave #2105

10) 2nd Lieutenant William Thomas Murray Company D 24th Texas Cavarly (Wilkes') (2nd Regiment Texas Lancers) died March 11, 1863 of apoplexy, grave #2105

11) 1st Lieutenant John Palmer Clarkson's Company Sappers and Miners died March 16, 1863 of ascites fever, grave #2106

12) 2nd Lieutenant Felix G. McKean Company F 19th Arkansas Infantry (Dawson's) died March 23, 1863 of typhoid and pnuemonia, grave #2108
